OUTPOST Alaska Fly Fishing Camp | Waters We Fish

Waters We Fish

Our home water creek (“Outpost creek”) is a rare gem by Alaska fishing standards – quaint, remote and a real fish factory for its size. Even anglers who’ve fished all across the giant state of Alaska often comment,

“It’s really hard to find solitude in Alaska with a fishery like this anymore!”

Our week-long guided fishing trip puts you fishing “Outpost creek” on foot most of the week. Expect exceptional small stream fishing with true solitude. We rarely see other fishermen during the trip. Excellent mouse, streamer and dry fly fishing for rainbow trout. Dry fly fishing for arctic grayling all day long. Excellent dolly varden fishing with occasional pink salmon. Grueling battles with king and chum salmon. We recommend a 7 wt fly rod to throw mice patterns and catch everything except the larger king salmon. A stiff 9 wt is minimum for Alaska king salmon fly fishing. A 5 wt is perfect for throwing dry flies all day! And ultra-light spinning gear is also an absolute blast! Make sure to bring quality gear on this trip, big King Salmon will destroy low end rods and reels.
