Alaska Wilderness
Outpost
Tucked deep in the remote wilderness of Bristol Bay and far beyond paved roads or crowded lodges, Alaska Wilderness Outpost offers a truly authentic Alaska fly fishing experience. This intimate, rustic camp is designed for anglers seeking solitude, adventure, and incredible small-stream fishing in untouched country.
Our pristine waters hold healthy populations of wild Alaska rainbow trout, king salmon, chum salmon, Arctic grayling, and Dolly Varden. During certain seasons, pink and sockeye salmon also make their way through the system, adding even more diversity to this unique fishery.
Trout fishing at Outpost Camp
At Alaska Wilderness Outpost, the focus is simple. Wild fish, remote water, and a genuine connection to the Alaska wilderness.
Waters we Fish
Outpost Creek is a rare gem by Alaska fishing standards. Quaint, remote, and a true fish factory for its size. This week-long guided trip has you on foot most days, wading much of the creek’s length aside from deeper runs and pools. Expect exceptional small-stream fishing and true solitude. Each day, we access different sections of the creek via hikes across an open tundra plateau, taking a new trajectory from basecamp. Walks to the water range from 10–15 minutes to 30, 45, and hour+ hikes. Those willing to go farther (100+ minutes) are rewarded with spectacular, untouched water few people will ever see. This is a moderately strenuous adventure. Guests should be in good physical shape to fully enjoy the week.
